Jazeera targets 2009 profit above KD 4m

Kuwaiti budget carrier Jazeera Airways has said its 2009 profit targets will be higher than last year's KD4million as it seeks to profit from higher passenger numbers.

The Kuwait Times reported that Jazeera’s Marwan Boodai said: “We’re close to the target. This year we are going to be aggressive. We’re benefitting from the credit crunch… The profit target is more than 4 million dinars.”

Boodai commented on the airliners proposed float on the Dubai stock exchange and said “for the time being it’s shelved. We get enough equity out of existing capital.”

According to Boodai access to capital is not too tight for companies with quality assets.
