IATA is projecting global pax numbers will recover to 52% of pre-COVID-19 levels (2019) in 2021, to 88% in 2022 and to 105% in 2023; with 5.6b pax expected in 2030, 7% lower than pre-COVID-19 forecast, it is estimating loss of 2-3 years of growth.
