Gulf Air welcomes Iran authority comments over delayed flight resumption

The dispute between Gulf Air and the Iranian Civil aviation authority appears to have been resolved, according to the Bahraini national carrier.

Earlier this week Gulf Air said it had been unable to resume scheduled flights to Iran because the country’s aviation regulator had been slow to approve flight schedules.

The airline said today that it welcomed the comments made by the head of Iran's Civil Aviation Authority, Hamid Reza Pahlevani that the resumption of its direct flights between Bahrain and Iran being subject to reciprocal permission being granted to Iran’s national carrier.

“The airline understands that this request has been approved by Bahrain’s Civil Aviation Authority, as per the terms of the bilateral agreement between the two countries. Gulf Air is now awaiting official approval of its flight schedule from Iran's Civil Aviation Authority and is looking forward to launching services as soon as possible,” a statement from Gulf Air said.
