GCAA reports growth in August air traffic movements

The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced today that air traffic movements in the UAE grew at a rate of 8.7% in August compared to the same month last year.

The GCAA monthly report indicated that total air traffic movements for the month were 65,176.
GCAA reports the number of air traffic movements in each UAE airport: Dubai ranked first with 30,392 traffic movements. Over flights stood next at 12,357 air traffic movements. Abu Dhabi ranked third with 10,311 air traffic movements. According to the report, air traffic movements in Sharjah International Airport ranked fourth with 5,489 movements. Local flights between UAE airports were in the fifth position with 5,194 movements. Al Maktoum International Airport witnessed 804 movements, Fujairah International Airport witnessed 63 movements, while Ras Al Khaimah International Airport had 455 air traffic movements and Al Ain Airport had 91 air traffic movements.
