GCAA go to London to develop communications skills
A team from UAE General Civil Aviation Authority's (GCAA) corporate communication section has paid a visit to the British capital to participate in a training programme organized by the UK's Civil Aviation Authority. The programme aims to exchange expertise in the field of corporate communications and identify the best practices.
The visit comes in line with a number of strategic objectives set by GCAA to enhance the efficiency of UAE nationals at technical and administrative level and to promote the exchange of experiences and knowledge between regional civil aviation bodies and international organizations.
Saif Al Suwaidi, director general of GCAA, said that "GCAA continuously seeks to enhance the expertise of national cadres through scholarship and training programs.
"Investment in human resources is one of the priorities of the GCAA and it is not only beneficial to us, but to the aviation sector as a whole"
Laila Ali Bin Hareb Al Muhairi, Executive Director of Strategy and International Affairs, explained why GCAA selected the UK CAA to provide the training training saying that UAE GCAA and UK CAA has been collaborating through several programmes in the past and that she is confident that the British colleagues are capable of providing new horizons for GCAA delegation.
Ruqayya Al Belooshi, corporate communication manager, said: "It’s important to be exposed to international organizations such as CAA and maximize our knowledge on the international best practices, where we can bring back this experience home and implement them.”
GCAA delegation had a chance to visit the National Air Traffic Services (NATS) centre to explore the communication section role in promoting air navigation services (ANS) and air traffic controllers.
