Economy passengers who are used to being uncomfortable on ultra-long-haul flights to save money will have an option to at least lie down for part of the trip with Air New Zealand’s (ANZ) “Skynest” bunk bed cabins that will allow them to pay NZD$400-$600 ($253-$380) for a four-hour nap in the sky.
ANZ’s Skynest, which is planned to roll out in September 2024 on its Boeing 787 ultra-long-haul routes to destinations from Auckland such as New York and Chicago, is said to “revolutionize the inflight experience for economy passengers,” ANZ said.
