The Decision Committee of Vanilla Alliance held a meeting on June 22, 2016, in Saint-Denis, Reunion Island.
Jean Claude de l'Estrac, General Secretary of the Indian Ocean Commission, Marie Joseph Malé, CEO of Air Austral, Gilles Filiatreault, CEO of Air Madagascar, Megh Pillay, CEO of Air Mauritius and Alan Renaud, Director of Corporate Affairs of Air Seychelles were present at this meeting.
Since September 21, 2015, the four airlines have worked closely together to bring improvements to the customer through real synergies.
These improvements now lead to concrete actions:
A new and more attractive Pass for trips within the Indian Ocean
This Pass will be launched next November. The four companies wanted a more attractive product than those currently proposed. This Pass will cater for combined trips with attractive prices on a wide range of destinations. Passengers with a long-haul ticket and all residents of the Vanilla Islands will be able to enjoy this privilege.
Significant improvement in the inter-island connectivity
The four companies have respectively adjusted their flight schedule to allow on all the destinations offered by the Alliance an increased frequency of direct flights between the four islands and a considerable improvement in the number of connecting flights.
The establishment of charter facilities
Standardised pre-established charter contracts have been set up between members of the Alliance.
