Fastjet Zimbabwe and Fastjet Zambia launches have been postponed

The launches of Fastjet Zimbabwe and Fastjet Zambia have been delayed until later this year, ch-aviation reports.

Fastjet PLC stated that the AOC application for Fastjet Zambia has been delayed by the Zambia Civil Aviation Authority lacking Airbus Industrie- qualified personnel needed to adjudicate its A319.
Fastjet Zimbabwe should gain its AOC in the next few days, however international operations will depend on the Zimbabwean government.
"Following the grant of the AOC we will apply for the Zimbabwe government to designate Fastjet as a Zimbabwe airline under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with various destination countries. Fastjet Zimbabwe’s rate of growth will depend on the speed with which these designations are achieved," airline representatives said.
Fastjet Zimbabwe is planned to launch in November, and Fastjet Zambia in December.
