FAAN warned over budgeting and security

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has been ordered by the House of Representatives to follow the principles of federal character in its 2016 staff recruitment.

FAAN’s management of non-functioning scanners has also been queried.
FAAN has been reprimanded for risking passenger lives by allowing scanners at major airports to remain broken.
The House of Representatives also questioned the need of NGN300 million (USD 1.5 million) for bush clearing and land reclamation, as well as money proposed for grass maintenance.

FAAN responded by saying the financial differences noticed in the proposal was meant for the recruitment of staff in the security, fire and rescue units.
