Etihad set to fly to Athens in June

Etihad Airways is expanding its route network, and in June will add the Greek capital of Athens to its list of destinations.

Athens will bring the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s network to 53 cities, including services to Melbourne, Australia due to start in March this year.

Initially the airline will fly to Athens three times a week non-stop with plans to increase to five times weekly from October 2009 and daily in early 2010.

The Greek connection will be the flag carrier’s 12th European destination and will be operated by a two-class A320 with 120 economy seats and 20 business class seats.
