Ethiopian Airlines acquires Africa's first A350XWB
Ethiopian Airlines has acquired Africa's first A350 XWB, and the carrier's first Airbus aircraft.
Each seat has been fitted with touchscreen monitors hosting the carrier’s in-flight entertainment system, and in-flight Wi-Fi will be made available in the future.
“The Airbus 350 XWB will enable us to further expand our service quality especially on our long-haul flights and strengthen our connectivity and herald with the least carbon emission to our planet ‘The New Spirit of Africa’ to the world,” said Tewolde GebreMariam, CEO, Ethiopian Airlines.
Operating a young fleet with modern features has been a part of the carrier’s vision for 2025, and introducing the A350 played a key role in this plan.
Ethiopian Airlines has 13 more A350s on order, due to be delivered to continually raise the number of Airbus aircraft in the fleet.
