Emirates to make partnership deal with African LCC?

Reuters has reported that new low-cost African carrier Fastjet is in potential partnership talks with Emirates Airline, sending the new African airline's shares up as much as 7% on London's stock market.

"Talks are at an early stage but this represents a great opportunity for both parties," Fastjet chief executive Ed Winter said in a statement. There is no clarification as to whether this partnership would include flydubai.

However, it would certainly give Emirates greater penetration into the internal African continental market

Fastjet, which began commercial flights last week, was set up after British investment firm Rubicon acquired the aviation unit of industrial group Lonrho for £53 million ($90m) in June.
