Emirates cuts back on China flights

Emirates will reduce services on its Beijing and Shanghai routes to ensure better utilisation of its fleet.

The Gulf News reported that from March 29 the airline will no longer operate its EK304 and EK305 Shanghai flights on Tuesdays and its EK308 and EK309 Beijing sectors on Sundays.

As of July the same services will cease to operate on Mondays and Thursday an Emirates spokesperson said.

The airline’s double-daily services to Shanghai and Beijing will be reduced to 12 flights a week but it will continue with the remaining services.

“The decision was made after a routine review of our operations, which we periodically conduct to ensure the best utilisation of our aircraft fleet for our overall business objectives," the airline said.
