Embraer forecasts regional aircraft growth for MENA

Brazilian manufacturer Embraer is forecasting major growth in the need for 30-120 seater aircraft in the Middle East over the next 20 years

The forecast showed global revenue passenger kilometer (RPK), increasing at an average annual rate of 5.2% and reaching 13 trillion RPKs in 2030.

The Middle East will see an annual growth of around 6.9% with Africa also exceeding the global average with 5.4%.

Embraer sees world demand for 7,225 new jet deliveries in the 30- to 120-seat capacity segment over the next 20 years. The equivalent market value is estimated to be $320 billion. Of this total, 3,125 jets are projected to be delivered between 2011 and 2020, and the remaining 4,100 units between 2021 and 2030

The Middle East is tipped to require 310 new regional jets in the period forecast, and Africa with 195. China has by far the greatest demand with a requirement for almost 1,000 new regional aircraft.
