EgyptAir gains more slots at Heathrow
EgyptAir has gained additional slots to pick up demand for flights between London Heathrow and Cairo.
The new slots took effect this week and will bring the number of direct weekly flights operated by EgyptAir between the two cities to 10 flights, in addition to another seven codeshare flights with BMI.
Captain Alaa Ashour, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Airlines, said, "The strategy for EgyptAir is seeking to increase frequencies to reach double or triple daily service on our major routes." He added "we have watched closely the demand on London Heathrow during the last period, and the increase in the demand was significant, which encouraged us to negotiate for these new slots. This step came to provide more options to EgyptAir's customers."
The airline will be operating double daily service to London Heathrow on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, and daily on the other weekdays, in addition to the weekly between Luxor and London Heathrow. The morning flights between Cairo and London will be operated B777-300ER while afternoon flights will be operated by A330-200.
