ECAir chief reminds African Union of aviation's greatest challenges
The importance of African countries ratifying and implementing Yamoussoukro to liberalise the air transport market was high on the agenda when Fatima Beyina Moussa director general of ECAir and the president of AfRAA met Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, President of the African Union commission in Addis Ababa.
Moussa also reiterated to the commission the important role that aviation plays in the African economies, moving people and goods around the continent.
She said the industry was being damaged by high taxes and restrictions of traffic freedoms.
Moussa also issued an invitation for the AU to be present when African airlines meet in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo, in November for the AFRAA annual general meeting.
