Damascus the latest route for Wataniya

Wataniya Airways, has, announced the launch of its latest destination to the historic city of Damascus with five weekly flights starting from June 3

The airline, which is headquartered in Kuwait, was able to add this popular destination to its network of routes following an agreement made with the Syrian Civil Aviation Authority.

Wataniya Airways is expecting to receive its third Airbus A320 aircraft in Kuwait within the third week of May and this additional aircraft will enable the airline to dramatically increase the frequency and destinations of its flights. Damascus is one of the most popular destinations for Kuwait based travellers and seat bookings can be made with immediate effect.

“I’m thrilled that we have secured the air traffic rights to fly to Damascus International Airport and that we are able to announce this during our first official AGM since we were listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange as this is a testimony to our significant achievements to date,” said Mr. Abdulsalam Al Bahar, Chairman and Managing Director of Wataniya Airways. “Syria has held close ties with Kuwait, both politically and economically and we are delighted to be able to offer our guests the chance to fly with our premium service to this destination.”
