Congo Airways suspends flights to Mbuji Mayi

Congo Airways has suspended flights travelling to Mbuji Mayi after concerns about the airfield's primary runway, ch-aviation reports.

Prospérité newspaper has said that operators complained to the civil aviation authority over the runway’s disintegrating surface.
Loose debris on the runway damaged Korongo Airline’s only aircraft earlier this year.
The Democratic Republic of Congo’s government invested USD55 million in the modernisation of the airfield’s passenger terminal, yet nothing has been invested in the runway.
FlyCAA is currently the only carrier operating to the airport.
