Cobham South Africa awarded Best in Class by Airbus
Airbus awarded eight suppliers as Best in Class due to their outstanding contribution to the business, including Cape Town-based Cobham South Africa.
The awards were split into three categories: Best Performer, Innovation and Support, and were awarded to selected partners in the areas of aerostructure and material, systems and equipment, cabin and propulsion and general procurement.
The Airbus executive committee, alongside business stakeholders, decided which companies to award.
The awards were given to: Cobham South Africa, UAC, Aritex, P3 Group and Honeywell Power Systems as Best Performer, Recaro and Radiall with Innovation Awards, and Rockwell Collins Avionics winning a Support award.
Cobham South Africa was awarded Best Performer in Systems and Equipment for its supply of satellite communication antennae. The antennae are installed in all Airbus jetliners.
