Cape Town Air Access launched to promote new routes
Cape Town Air Access was launched on Thursday, to promote air routes out of Cape Town International Airport.
The Air Access team is consists of Western Cape Investment and Trade and Promotion Agency (Westgro), the City, Airports Company South Africa and the provincial government.
Cape Town International Airport has announced direct flights to Ethiopia, Botswana and additional flights to Gatwick, as well as negotiating non-stop routes to the US and Asia.
“By targeting strategic markets via the development of key air routes, we can stimulate trade and investments that will make the Western Cape an even more competitive business location,” said Wesgro chief executive Tim Harris.
It is suspected that with new routes developing, Cape Town International Airport will surpass 10 million passengers within the next year.
