Bluebird Aviation has had its assets frozen
Bluebird Aviation has had its assets frozen by a court in Nairobi pending the outcome of a court case.
One of the airline’s shareholders claims that the other three has defrauded it.
The carriers three co-directors, Hussein Ahmed Farah, Hussein Unshur Mohamed, and Mohamed Abdikadir Adan, have been stopped from transacting with real estate, two bank accounts and any of the aircraft owned or leased by Bluebird Aviation.
"In the event that the defendants need to make any necessary payments on behalf of Bluebird Aviation Ltd, they are forbidden from doing so without prior leave of the court," said Commercial Court Judge Farah Amin.
Yusef Abdi Adan claims the three shareholders have used parallel systems to misappropriate up to USD1 billion since the company started.
