Following the post 9/11 aviation market downturn and Airbus ceasing maintenance support for the aircraft, British Airways and Air France jointly confirmed the retirement of the Concorde in April 2003. Air France conducted its final Concorde flight on May 30, 2003 after touching down in New York City from Paris. Five months later, British Airways completed its final flight with the aircraft.
