Following four consecutive quarters of falling RPKs, traffic for the three major Chinese carriers has risen in the third quarter (Q3) of 2022. Air China, China Eastern and China Southern roughly doubled their traffic in the recent three-month period ending Sept. 30, compared with the 2022 second quarter, which had been the lowest levels since the beginning of the pandemic.
