JetBlue Offers $3.6B To Acquire Spirit Airlines

JetBlue Airways is offering $3.6 billion to acquire Spirit Airlines, complicating plans by Frontier Airlines to merge with Spirit before the end of 2022. The all-cash offer from New York-based JetBlue amounts to $33 per share of Spirit stock, an approximately 50% premium over Spirit’s roughly $21 share price on April 4, and a 37% premium to the value implied by the Frontier proposal. TSA Budget Proposal Includes 16% Hike, Workforce Pay Boost

The proposed baseline budget for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for fiscal 2023 would increase agency funding by nearly 16%, with a large chunk of the new money going toward greater pay and benefits for the agency’s nearly 50,000 employees. FAA To Mandate PW1500, PW1900 Component Upgrades

The FAA is proposing mandatory upgrades to Pratt & Whitney PW1500G and PW1900G engines that incorporates a redesigned component developed to eliminate the risk of a condition linked to four inflight shutdowns. Ryanair Adjusts To Loss Of Ukraine Traffic, Narrows Year-End Projections

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, Ryanair Group has had to cancel 50 flights per day in and out of Ukraine.
