Danish Investigators Probing TAP A320 Inflight Reverser-Deployment

FAA Details Contract Tower Grant Qualifications
The FAA has released details on criteria for awarding $20 million in funding to build or support some contract towers, including remote facilities. After more than two years of being required to wear a mask to fly, U.S. passengers and aviation employees discovered on Monday that they could go mask-free in an abrupt about-turn that caught everyone by surprise. A Florida district judge announced her ruling that day on a lawsuit filed by a group called the Health Freedom Defense Fund, which challenged the legality of the Biden administration’s mask mandate. Embraer First Quarter Deliveries Dip
Embraer’s civil aircraft deliveries fell both year-over-year and sequentially in the first quarter (Q1), as the company handed over six commercial airframes and eight business jets. Commercial deliveries of four E175s and two E195-E2s in the quarter were 10 fewer than the 2021 fourth quarter (Q4), which benefitted from the traditional end-of-year delivery push that most aircraft manufacturers have, and three fewer than 2021 Q1. Nordica Sees Potential For At Least 10 A320s
Estonian wet-lease provider Nordic Aviation Group (Nordica) plans to take its first Airbus A320 in summer 2022, with potential to grow to at least 10 of the type over the coming years. Government-owned Nordica and its fully owned airline subsidiary Xfly are entering the summer season with a fleet of 16 aircraft, comprising seven ATR72-600s and nine Bombardier CRJ900s. EASA To Halt Cargo In Passenger Cabins From July
As market conditions begin to normalize, EU aviation regulator EASA has announced that it will no longer be allowing exemptions for cargo to be carried in passenger cabins, starting July 31. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, when almost all long-haul flights were suspended, EASA was able to maintain vital supply chain links by allowing cargo to be carried on the main deck of passenger aircraft. Royal Jordanian Narrows Loss, Eyes Route And Fleet Expansions
Royal Jordanian Airlines (RJ) reduced its losses in 2021 and now intends to increase its destinations to 60 from 35 during the next five years. SunExpress Again Planning Five-Bay MRO Hangar In Antalya
Turkey-based leisure and domestic carrier SunExpress, a joint venture of Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, has resumed plans to build a five-bay hangar for its Boeing 737 fleet at Antalya Airport on Turkey’s southern coast.
