ATNS signs agreement with Namibian Directorate of Civil Aviation
Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) has signed an Air Traffic Management (ATM) contract with the Namibian Directorate of Civil Aviation (NDCA).
ATNS will provide NDCA with assistance in changing from the manual Aeronautical Information System (AIS) to an automated International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) approved Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) Service.
ATNS CEO Thabani Mthiyane said: "One of ICAO's requirements as defined in the ICAO AIS/AIM Transition Roadmap - is the creation of a centralised repository for Aeronautical Information. Sharing of this information will be expanded to other aviation entities in Africa, using the appropriate exchange model."
The agreement will come into effect as of April for a course of seven years.
