ATNS celebrates the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller

Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) joins the global aviation community to celebrate the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller.

20th October marks the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller, which pays tribute to the work performed by Air Traffic Controllers (ATCs) and the role they play in aviation.
“In South Africa we are very fortunate that we have some of the world’s leading Air Traffic Management (ATM) technologies. We have very professional and competent ATCs that contribute to the safety of our skies,” said ATNS CEO Thabani Mthiyane, explaining the importance of the work of the ATCs.
ATCs play a critical role in handling the expanding air traffic safely and efficiently whilst keeping costs low and carbon neutral.
There are around 50,000 active ATCs worldwide, with the ANTS ATCs being ranked among some of the best in the world.
