ASKY Airlines makes milestone net profit

ASKY Airlines has made a net profit of CFA2.2 billion (USD4 million) in the 2015 fiscal year.

The achievement has made the carrier the first in West and Central Africa to reach this milestone, in spite of African airlines collectively losing USD700 million last year.
“Despite the daunting challenges of the operating environment in West and Central Africa characterized by much higher operating costs than in other regions and the decline in travel demand due economic slowdown triggered by a sharp fall in commodity prices, we were able to successfully navigate thru these difficulties and attain a historical result,” said Henok Teferra, CEO of ASKY Airlines.
