WORLD ROUTES: TCA Abu Dhabi Establishes Aviation Development Committee

The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority has established a dedicated industry development committee (IDC) specifically for the airline/aviation sector. The IDC includes representatives of Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), the Department of Transport and airlines serving Abu Dhabi International Airport. Together with the authority, the IDC members will examine potential for expanding the sector’s business throughout the emirate and identify and rectify issues delaying progress.

News of the formation of the IDC came at the 18th World Routes Development Forum where Quality & Performance Manager, Mohammed Al Dhaheri was addressing an industry panel. The authority is encouraging the delegates and media to sample Abu Dhabi’s tourism and culture offering by being part of an expansive Abu Dhabi pavilion at the exhibition, which features a number of key stakeholders including Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Mubadala, TDIC and Etihad Airways.

Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority conserves and promotes the heritage and culture of Abu Dhabi emirate and leverages them in the development of a world-class, sustainable destination of distinction, which enriches the lives of visitors and residents alike. The authority manages the emirate’s tourism sector and markets the destination internationally through a wide range of activities aimed at attracting visitors and investment.
