WORLD ROUTES: Pascan Aviation Continues Drive to Enhance Canadian Regional Connectivity
Canadian regional carrier Pascan Aviation this week launches a new domestic Canadian connection between Moncton, NB and St. John’s, NL using an ATR 42 turboprop. The new weekday connection will operate with single daily rotations Monday to Friday from October 10, 2013, while the new schedule will also support the introduction of a new weekly link between Moncton and Quebec City, QC.
“I’m very encouraged by the interest in both airports and Pascan Aviation is very committed to serving these regions,” said Serge Charron, president, Pascan Aviation and who, since 1999 has committed to developing an airline that concentrates on servicing the smaller regions.
“I’ve continued to say that commercial air service in Eastern Canada is absolutely necessary – it creates jobs and helps our economy grow. I strongly encourage residents and businesses to use this new air service when it starts,” he added.
Since its launch Pascan Aviation has been committed to supporting Canada’s regions and works closely with communities to provide a safe, reliable air service that offers competitive and consistent pricing across essential routes. It now has a fleet of almost 30 aircraft ranging from 42-seat ATR 42s, via 18-seat BAe Jetstream 32s, the backbone of its fleet, to smaller nine-seat Pilatus PC-12s and eight-seat Beech 200 Super King Airs. These are assigned to around 80 daily regional flights to 20 destinations throughout Quebec, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
“We are delighted to welcome Pascan Aviation as our newest airline partner to our Airport,” said Keith Collins, president and chief executive officer of the St. John’s International Airport Authority. “Moncton represents the largest, unserved market in Atlantic Canada from our region, and we are pleased that Pascan Aviation’s direct airline service will provide convenient access for both business and leisure travellers to this new destination.”
