WORLD ROUTES: New Air Service Agreement Between Abu Dhabi and Swaziland

The Department of Transport (DoT) in Abu Dhabi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for air services with the Civil Aviation Authority of the Kingdom of Swaziland.

This fully liberal MoU will allow both Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, and the designated airline of Swaziland to operate passenger and/or all-cargo services between and beyond Abu Dhabi and Swaziland without any restrictions on frequencies, capacity, aircraft types and traffic rights.

This initiative has been taken in line with the Department of Transports’ efforts to continuously encourage the civil aviation growth in Abu Dhabi and thereby boost connectivity, trade and tourism.

The Department of Transport (DoT) was established pursuant to Law No. 4 of year 2006, amended by Law No. 5 of year 2008 to cover the entire value chain and ensure fully coordinated planning in all aspects of transport policy and development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in cooperation with all relevant local, regional and international stakeholders and partners.
