World Routes comes to the USA for the first time next October at the 19thWorld Route Development Forum in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event promises to help its host, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, deliver on its objectives of new international air services for the destination and also to bring the air service development community up to speed with the latest developments the city has to offer.
“We’re very excited to be the first World Routes host destination in the United States”, said Cathy Tull, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, speaking at the World Routes 2013 press conference in Abu Dhabi. “Las Vegas offers an experience which is second to none and we’re looking forward to welcoming the world’s aviation community. The city is the entertainment and convention capital of the world with nearly 5 million convention visitors last year, and we are seeing strong growth in international and high-end visitors.”
Randall H. Walker, Director of Aviation for Las Vegas McCarran International Airport, co-host of the event commented: “Las Vegas is not only a fascinating and exciting city, but the new terminal also makes it a focal point for route development. With a 7% growth in international passengers this year, Las Vegas is the fastest growing international airport in the United States, and the brand new Terminal 3 is a great opportunity to continue to grow passenger and visitor numbers in the coming years.”
Organisers of the event have given the HUB an exclusive insight into their planning for this event and not only do they expect further growth in delegate numbers for World Routes 2013 but they are also making a number of key developments to the event programme.
The pre-scheduled Face-to-Face meetings, which form the core of the event, will continue on the Sunday of World Routes (exclusively for stand holders) following their successful trial in Abu Dhabi in 2012. In fact, in a recent post event survey, 98% of exhibitors who responded said they felt World Routes was either very or quite important to their business.
Next year the Routes team will bring even more relevant content in the World Routes programme which will not only attract senior speakers but will ensure all delegates get the maximum benefit from their attendance. 88% of delegates surveyed in 2012 felt that World Routes attracted the highest quality of attendees.
In a key development for 2013, all delegates who are registered to attend the event in Las Vegas will gain complimentary access to the World Routes Strategy Summit as part of their entrance fee. The Strategy Summit, which is a high level conference programme held in partnership with ICAO and the World Bank, is designed to attract the highest level of industry experts to the event and is open to all delegates for the first time.
David Stroud, Executive Vice President, Routes said: “Hosting World Routes will allow Las Vegas to increase air services and visitor numbers at a time when the airport’s expansion offers airlines new opportunities. For Routes, taking the event to the United States for the first time will further strengthen our position in the world’s largest aviation market.”
