World Routes 2013: Attention Airlines - Airport need your votes!

During the last few weeks the airline network planning community have been nominating the top 5 airports and destinations they feel have been the most successful in their marketing approach to the development of air services.

Airlines should consider the airports and destinations whose marketing efforts, over the last 12 months, have made a real impact on their future route development plans when deciding who to nominate. Their market research activities, marketing communications, business case presentations and joint communication campaigns with third parties will all be taken into account when voting.

Once the airline network planning community has voted, the votes will be counted and the shortlisted airports and destinations contacted and asked to provide a submission to support their nomination. The submission, which should contain as much information as possible about their marketing activities and support packages to airlines in a clear and concise way, will then be passed to a judging panel consisting of senior industry figures. This process is designed to enable the shortlisted airports to provide information for the judging panel as to why they think they should win the award, providing evidence to support their case.

This year there will be 5 awards categories as follows:

  • Airports Under 4 Million Pax
  • Airports 4 Million – 20 Million Pax
  • Airports 20 Million – 50 Million Pax
  • Airports Over 50 Million Pax
  • Destinations

Automatically shortlisted in the relevant category will be the overall winners of each of the regional heats which took place earlier this year; San Diego International Airport, Changi Airport Group, Munich Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport and Ekaterinburg Koltsovo Airport.

Winners of these highly regarded industry awards will be announced during a ceremony which will take place at the Las Vegas Networking Evening on Monday 7thOctober which will take place in the Garden of the Gods at Caesars Palace, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment.

Vote now and play an important role in deciding which airport wins one of these widely sought after accolades. Voting will remain open until Monday 2nd September 2013 and shortlisted airports will be announced shortly after this deadline

For those who feel they would like to be considered for an Award in Las Vegas the procedure is simple; campaign your airline contacts and ask them to vote for you on our website here.
