WORLD ROUTES 2011: The Berlin Networking Evening

The Berlin Networking Evening, hosted by Berlin Brandenburg Airport, will take place on Monday 3rd October at the site of the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport and promises a great opportunity for all delegates to continue networking in a more relaxed environment. This event will not only include drinks, dinner, entertainment and dancing but will also include the new look World Routes Awards sponsored by OAG.

Delegates will be collected from their hotels and will arrive at the new airport where no expense has been spared by our host in providing a huge marquee which will be our venue for the evening.

As well as a fabulous open buffet, delegates will be able to sample some local treats. airberlin will be offering currywurst, a Berlin snack consisting of German sausage with a curry ketchup, throughout the evening, or for those who prefer something sweeter why not visit the beer garden area where different German sweets can be sampled.

For delegates wishing to take a look around the construction site of the new airport Velo Taxis will be available for short tours. A soccer kick wall outside of the marquee will provide chances to win prizes by showing off your sporting skills.

The World Routes Awards will take place during the evening where winners of the airport marketing awards will be announced along with winners in two new categories, best network performance by an airline planning team and best destination marketing campaign by a tourism authority.

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by Flying Steps and Jocelyn B Smith & Band. The world champions in break dance, Flying Steps, will be performing ‘Flying Bach’ a unique experience where culture meets urban art. Later in the evening world famous,New York-born jazz singer Jocelyn B Smith will take to the stage with her band to delight listeners with her amazing and soulful voice.

The dress code for this event is smart casual but make sure you bring your dancing shoes, as true to form, the “City of Cool” will have a DJ playing into the night!
