What's On The Horizon For: Noida International Airport

Expected to open by the end of 2024, the new Noida International Airport in north India will be the second airport in the Delhi-National Capital Region.

The airport last year unveiled its IATA code as DXN, moving one step closer to its customers being able to identify the airport across multiple platforms.

The initial phase of the ambitious project will boast one runway and a single terminal, designed to accommodate approximately 12 million passengers annually. As the development progresses, subsequent phases are anticipated to scale up the airport's capabilities, with projections indicating the capacity to handle 70 million passengers each year upon completion of its fourth phase.

At the recent Routes Asia 2024 held in Langkawi, representatives from Noida International Airport, a Routes 360 member, were present to shed light on the latest developments and the strategic vision for route development.

CCO Kiran Kain and Surabhi Rana, head of air service development, spoke to Routes about the strategy, explaining that the immediate priority is to grow DXN’s domestic network.

Partnerships have already been forged with prominent carriers such as IndiGo and Akasa Air to help the airport achieve this aim. IndiGo, India's largest airline, is slated to be the inaugural carrier at DXN, while Akasa Air plans to station aircraft at Noida to operate both domestic and international flights.

Speaking about DXN’s Routes 360 membership, Rana said: “We are utilizing it to the maximum! We are a new airport, not many in the aviation community know about us, especially the airlines who are not operating into India.

“That is where Routes 360 plays an important role for us, we are talking about key developments, construction, and opening dates that is keeping the airline community abreast about the latest developments.”

Seeking to raise awareness and enhance connectivity of Noida International Airport, the organization shares its latest developments and key messaging through its Routes 360 membership.
