Virgin America to serve Toronto

Virgin America has announced that it will start services to Toronto, from its west coast US bases at San Francisco and Los Angeles.

The new flights will start on June 23rd, where Virgin America will compete on LAX with American Airlines 7x weekly and Air Canada a 27x weekly schedule, from SFO, Air Canada also operates a 27x weekly schedule with Star Alliance partner United Airlines offering a daily service.

On the SFO-YYZ sector, over 243,000 pax have flown the route between Feb 09-10, with Air Canada enjoying a 71% share of the O+D market, from LAX over 348,000 O+D pax have travelled the route, Air Canada having a 63% share of the market.
