Start-Up Carrier Volotea Plans 34 Additional New Routes from June 2012

Europe's new start-up carrier Volotea has revealed plans to launch additional 34 routes, which includes the expansion of its Venice base, as well as the launch of Nantes and Bordeaux base. By launching new French bases, the airline will offer domestic French service as well as intra-European service.

Planned new routes are:

  • Biarritz: Lille, Nantes
  • Bordeaux: Ajaccio, Bastia, Ibiza, Malaga, Palermo, Toulon
  • Cagliari: Ancona, Brindisi
  • Nantes: Ajaccio, Bastia, Ibiza, Mahon, Metz, Milan Bergamo, Munich, Olbia, Palma Mallorca, Perpignan, Prague, Toulon, Valencia
  • Olbia: Palermo
  • Venice: Alghero, Corfu, Irakleion/Heraklion, Kos, Lampedusa, Mykonos, Rhodes, Split, Thira, Valencia

Some of these services operates on seasonal basis only. Including 17 routes announced earlier this month, the airline will operate a total of 51 routes across Europe. Previously announced new routes are:

  • Palermo: Ancona, Genoa, Trieste
  • Venice: Alicante, Bilbao, Bordeaux, Brindisi, Budapest, Cagliari, Krakow, Malaga, Olbia, Palermo, Porto, Reggio di Calabria, Santiago de Compostela, Thessaloniki
