Stansted withdraws application for second runway

In the wake of the new UK coalition government, scrapping plans for a third runway at London Heathrow Airport, London Stansted, the third London Airport has withdrawn its application to construct a second runway aimed at significantly expanding capacity at the airport.

The expansion would have comprised a new terminal building.
