Spicejet adds new domestic services
Indian carrier Spicejet has added three new routes from Kolkata to Agartala, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad. Spicejet announced the new donestic services as the carrier begins to analyse the potential for near domestic international services with its fleet of B737-800 aircraft having been operating domestically for 5 years, the mandatory requirement in India before launching domestic services.
Spicejet currently operates 98 weekly depatures fro Kolkata and is the fifth largest carrier at the airport behind Indigo, Air India, Kingfisher and Jet Airways. The three new destinations will bring its tally from Kolkata to 11 destinations, and is its third largest airport in terms of weekly flights behind Delhi and Mumbai.
