Southwest adds new routes from Phoenix

Southwest Airlines will add two new non-stop destinations with the introduction of routes to Minneapolis and Boston.

From August 15th it will begin 2x daily services to MSP competing with the following carriers

• Delta Air Lines 41x Weekly
• US Airways 28x weekly
• Sun Country 4x weekly

To Boston it will operate a daily service effective September 7th and will compete with

• Jetblue 7x weekly
• US Airways 21x weekly

Southwest is the second largest carrier in terms of weekly operated flights at PHX and competes with US Airways on over 30 city pairs.
