Skyteam carrier cuts domestic routes
Skyteam carrier Delta Airlines has revealed that it will discontinue scheduled services on five domestic routes from its hub in Cincinnati, Ohio in the US. From February 11, Delta will axe the following routes
- Des Moines- 2x daily
- Oklahoma City- 1x daily
- Providence - 1x daily
- Tri City 2x daily
- Montreal 2x daily
Delta Airlines is by far the largest carrier at CVG with a market share of 83% on all domestic and International routes, the other carriers at CVG in order of flights operated are American Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, Continental Airlines and USA 3000.
Cincinnati does however remain the third largest hub in the Delta network. Delta main hub at Atlanta is its largest market with 27% of all its flights departing from ATL, followed by Salt Lake City, and CVG remaining third, in terms of flights operated and in seat capacity.
The vast majority of flights at CVG remain domestic with just three European services, which are to Paris Charles de Gaulle, frankfurt and London Gatwick.
