Amsterdam Airport Schiphol watches World Cup football together with travellers

Coinciding with the kick-off of the World Cup Football on Friday, 11 June a Schiphol grandstand was opened especially for all football fans at Jan Dellaertplein in front of the Schiphol Plaza entrance.

Passengers, meeters, greeters as well as Schiphol's neighbours can follow the football matches live on the new Astrovision screen. The World Cup grandstand was specially developed for Schiphol and can seat over 325 people.

The new screen is 85% larger than the old screen and has a 16:9-metre wide-screen format. The Panasonic wide-screen television screen covers more than 74m2. From 06.00 am to 12.00 midnight every day, in addition to information and entertainment, advertisements with sound are broadcast on the screen to an audience of 22 million people annually.
