ROUTES ASIA: Dressing For the Part!

Monday of Routes Asia in Incheon, South Korea was a busy day of meetings, Airline Briefing sessions and networking, while Korean culture was showcased in music, art and even fashion – and delegates even had the chance to have their photos taken in traditional garb.

Over 400 delegates were in attendance at the first day of Routes Asia, with people travelling from all over the Asia-Pacific region to Incheon. Airport delegates from Europe and North America were also out in force, all of them keen to get a slice of the growing Asian markets.

Korean’s airlines ensured they were in the spotlight with both Korean Air and Asiana having huge stands in the Networking Village. Korean chose to showcase its spacious and luxurious new First Class seat, while Asiana focused on displaying the strength of its IT and technology offerings.

In between meetings delegates grabbed a refreshing fresh coffees on the Incheon Airport stand, made traditional Korean charms and prints, had their portrait drawn or dressed up in beautiful traditional Korean clothing. Here Routesonline’s David McMullen gets into the spirit of things with Routes News’ Rebecca Randall, Monica Chan and Lucy Siebert.

While this year the focus is on all things Korean, next year Routes Asia moves back to the world’s fastest growing economy, with Chengdu Shuangliu Airport in Central China hosting the event. The gateway’s team was out in force in Incheon, displaying its most famous residents – Giant Panda Bears – in the form of fluffy toys on its stand.
