The 10th Routes Asia event is still four months away, yet over 40 airlines have confirmed that they will be in attendance at what is shaping up to be the largest Routes Asia event ever.
Three of the most recent registrations to have been received are Air China, China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines; all major Chinese carriers which have confirmed during the last week. As the event will be hosted by Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CDIA), which is located in the central-western region of China, a large Chinese delegation is expected to attend with more airlines from the country expected to be registering over the coming months.
Already there is indication of a strong cargo presence at the event with registrations received so far from UPS, China Cargo Airlines and Jade Cargo, the largest cargo carrier based at CDIA. There is also a promising number of low-cost carriers registered at this early stage such as AirAsia X, Jetstar Airways and Tiger Airways Singapore.
Middle Eastern carriers are also registering in force with the attendance of three major carriers from the region - Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways - already confirmed for the only network planning forum for the Asia region. Also in attendance from the Middle Eastern region, and attending Routes Asia for the first time, will be Kuwait based low-cost carrier Jazeera Airways.
