Route Exchange Carrier: Aer Lingus

Aer Lingus looks for opportunities with regional aircraft

Based in Dublin, Aer Lingus operates 41 Airbus aircraft serving Europe, Africa and North America. Aer Lingus' low-cost, low fares model is centred on maintaining low unit cost, offering one way fares, maintaining effective fleet utilisation and developing the Aer Lingus brand. Consistent with this low-cost model, Aer Lingus' primary distribution channel is its website aerlingus.com.

The carrier has agreed a franchise deal with regional jet operator Aer Arann to operate a number of routes with Aer Arann equipment under the Aer Lingus regional brand.

NETWORK STRATEGY

Aer Lingus is seeking to connect regional markets with the aim of feeding its transatlantic operations out of Dublin and Shannon with regional partners such as Aer Arann. Aer Lingus is focused upon serving the large O+D markets from Ireland, as well as from London Gatwick where the carrier has three based units.

AIRLINE REQUIREMENTS

Aer Lingus welcomes airports to bid for Aer Lingus service for S2011.

Aer Lingus has a particular focus to receive proposals from Airports in the UK and France, with the aim of providing regional service from thinner markets with smaller equipment than A320's to feed the Dublin and Shannon markets. We can also look at routes to be operated with A320 equipment.

Secondly we are looking at regional markets from Cork than can be operated with regional aircraft.

We welcome route proposals, particularly from the UK and France, through Route Exchange.
