The 7thRoutes Africa event will take place on 8-10 July hosted by the Seychelles Tourism Board in partnership with the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority and this year’s event looks set to be the largest Routes Africa event ever with first time attendees, high level delegates, new exhibitors, Route Exchange Briefings and much, much more. Here are just some of the recent registration highlights.
Kenya Airways is the latest airline to register for the route development forum for the entire Africa region bringing the total number of airlines represented at the event to 19. The list also includes Malaysia Airlines Cargo who are attending Routes Arica for the first time along with a number of airlines who will make their inaugural appearance at a Routes event such as Air Seychelles, Nasair, Nasair Eritrea, RwandAir and Zambezi Airlines.
Also registered to attend the event are the major carriers from the Middle East region including Etihad, Emirates, and Qatar Airways as well as European flag carriers such as Iberia and Turkish Airlines, all leading towards our largest airline attendance ever in Africa. Other notable attendees this year include Africa’s largest carrier South African Airways, as well as one of Africa’s quickest growing airlines Arik Air both of whom will deliver a Route Exchange Airline Briefing during the event. This sizable list of carriers demonstrates the importance of the African region to carriers from outside the region looking to capitalise on this high potential market. Routes Africa 2012 will see airports from all over the region in attendance including representation from Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, Uganda, Swaziland, Ghana, Egypt and Gabon amongst others. Airports outside Africa will also be in the Seychelles with registrations received from the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.
Recent airport registrations include Abu Dhabi Airports Company, Julius Nyerere International Airport, Vienna International Airport and Sharjah Airport Authority, who will attend Routes Africa for the first time. Another first time attendee this year is Ras Al Khaimah International Airport who will also take sponsorship of the event registration whilst Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen International Airport will sponsor the meetings system for Routes Africa 2012.
