Paderborn/Lippstadt Airport (PAD) is positioning itself for further network growth, leveraging a strong catchment area, robust regional economy and growing leisure demand to attract new airline partners and expand connectivity across Europe.
Located in the heart of Germany, PAD serves a catchment area of approximately 5.5 million people across parts of North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony and northern Hesse. The region is home to a diverse range of internationally active companies, providing a solid foundation for both leisure and business travel demand.
The airport welcomed more than 740,000 passengers in 2025 and has seen its route network evolve in response to growing leisure demand. For summer 2026, TUI expanded its presence with four weekly flights to Heraklion from May 9, alongside weekly services to Kos and Rhodes. Eurowings continued to serve Palma de Mallorca, while SunExpress maintained its Antalya service.
The summer schedule has also been bolstered by a range of charter services, including flights to Malta, Sicily and the Aeolian Islands operated by TUI fly on behalf of German tour operator WUR.
While PAD’s current scheduled network is concentrated on leisure destinations, the region is home to numerous internationally active companies, providing a solid base for business travel and supporting sustainable passenger demand.
Operating 24/7, PAD offers airlines significant operational flexibility. With proven outbound leisure demand and a strong regional proposition, the airport is well positioned for further capacity growth. Alongside established routes served by multiple carriers, PAD has identified demand for additional nonstop services to underserved markets across Europe.
As a member of Routes 360, the only digital platform dedicated to route development, PAD has outlined core European targets to enhance hub connectivity and leisure travel.
