Operation Sight Flight!

Over the last few weeks The HUB has included lots of information about our official charity partner, ORBIS and now we’re giving you the opportunity to fly the plane along a 300 mile virtual flightpath!

You can visit the ‘hospital with wings’ during your time in Abu Dhabi when the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital will be displayed at Al Bateen Executive Airport during this year’s World Routes Event but before you see the plane for real why not fly the plane here. Help The ORBIS DC-10 reach its goal of flying 500,000 virtual miles and making 152 sight-saving stops across 89 countries saving people's sight every step of the way.

You can also register for one of the delegate tours on offer at World Routes here. These exclusive tours will allow you to see the operating room, lecture theatre and audio visual suite up close whilst also meeting the team that travels the world to bring training and treatment to developing countries.

This visit to Abu Dhabi marks the current Flying Eye Hospital’s last to the Middle East, as the third ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital, an MD-10, will take to the skies in 2013. As our official charity partner, Routes is working with ORBIS to raise funds for the next generation Flying Eye Hospital.
