Oman Air & Malaysia Airlines Codeshare
Oman Air and Malaysia Airlines have entered a codeshare arrangement which will bolster the range of destinations in their respective networks.
Oman Air currently offers four weekly flights between Muscat and Kuala Lumpur. With this partnership, passengers will be able to connect on Malaysia Airlines' services to Langkawi (35 weekly), Kota Kinabalu (62 weekly), Penang (63 weekly), Kuching (49 weekly), Singapore (49 weekly) and Hong Kong (14 weekly).
While Malaysia Airlines’ customers will benefit from non-stop flights from Kuala Lumpur to Muscat, with connections available from the capital of Oman to Amman and Kuwait City. The partnership also provides passengers with more flight options to Dubai and Beirut.
Malaysia Airlines' CEO, Tengku Dato Azmil Zahruddin said: "This partnership expands and strengthens our hub-and-spoke network. We will be able to capture untapped traffic from secondary points in Middle East through Muscat onto our network. We target to capture around 60% of the existing traffic to Kuala Lumpur and beyond, valued at more than RM26 million per annum. Many travellers are currently travelling to Kuala Lumpur and beyond via other Middle Eastern points."
