Northwest withdraws Seattle–London service

Northwest Airlines will drop its daily flights between Seattle and London from January 8.

The service began less than six months ago while Anthony Black, a spokesman for Delta Air Lines, which recently merged with Northwest, said on Thursday (November 13) that the landing slot at London's Heathrow Airport is being allocated to "a more profitable route."

BA continues to serve Seattle directly from Heathrow.
